I guess the bowling alley was having repairs made. That was the dumbest location for a football game.
No reason to play games on a baseball field in today's world. It's not like there is a shortage of football fields.
The San Diego State stadium only seats 35,000.
Of course, if the Pac invites SDSU (and the Pac needs a team located in southern CA), and the Holiday Bowl agrees to play at the SDSU stadium, then I expect it will be expanded to about 45,000.
Bowl games don't need large stadiums, with the obvious exception of NY6 and CFP games. 35k would have been enough. Why does it have to be played in San Diego though? It can easily be moved out of San Diego.
I don't know who owns it. If the bowl's owners are San Diego people, they want it there for their community.
