Just out of curiosity, is there any rule preventing Cal from watching the game in the locker room and using his phone to give instructions to his assistants?
Probably not. I should think he has enough confidence in his assistants to execute the Kentucky game plan without his directing, unless he's the micro-managing sort.
How about over half time?
Looking at the guy who took over, I'm tempted to check if he has a pulse. He may be a great coach, but he looks totally uninvolved. Not the demeanor I'd want to help the team deal with the loss of their coach.
I'd bet that more than half those guys were glad to see Cal get tossed . .and the team seems to be doing just fine w/o him.
Best part of that was watching Cal button his jacket up on the way off the court, WITH HIS SHIRT UNTUCKED. hahahahahaha
yeah that scene with him leaving the court and his shirt all out was hilarious. Then he calmly buttons his suit jacket.... LOL
Since the Tennessee game UK has been playing outstanding. They are going to be a tough out come tourney time. With the way their guards play I hope they are not in our bracket. Our bigs should have a field day but their defense is good and their guards are tremendous.
The strange thing was the first tech was after a call against USC, not UK. No idea what he freaked out about.
Agree, I want no part of UK at all. Ullis is the type of player that puts a team on his back and runs through the tourney.
Two teams going in the opposite direction, UK and UNC. Sadly, our experience shouldn't have let this happen.
There are ups & downs to every season. I still have faith that we'll get to the Final Four. Marcus and Justin (hopefully) are getting their groove back. If the Heels commit to playing defense consistently, I think we'll be ok.
Cal got the first tech because of a South Carolina player crashing the boards and going over a UK players back and knocking him to the floor. The ref never explained the second tech even though I'm sure it was deserved. As far as Cal doing anything at halftime he didn't. When the players came in he told them good job and said a few words but then let guys coaching continue to coach and as far as the players being happy that Cal got through out of the game lol no! They love playing for Cal!!! Would UNC's players love it if Roy got tossed? No!!!
I don't agree with that at all, at least not if it was the play they kept showing. There was no foul there. Both guys were fighting and went to the ground. I thought in the first ten minutes South Carolina got a great whistle but didn't think he had a reason to be that worked up about that particular call. Unless he cursed the first T was unwarranted. The second one he earned.

I wish Roy would get irate at the BS officiating and draw a tech or 2.
