Dean Dome is really empty maybe because of the six o'clock off time--unc-g up early 2-0 until Berry hits a bank shot 2-2
Had to take a short break for dinner but Carolina now leads 28-17. The Spartans have hit three straight treys
Jackson 2 runners who now has 8 points and the Heels lead 36-21...Johnson 8 rebounds 4 points and two fouls. UNC - GREENSBORO has gone zone and without Paige in the lineup Carolina can not hit one from deep
Luke has a knack for being in the right spot at the right time. And he plays with a high motor. Already one of my favorites.
Overall a sloppy first half which was expected with only 2 practices and the holiday break. Paige looks really sharp and he went to the hole three times which is great to see. Hicks looked to score everytime he gets the ball in the paint.
I don't love trapping this team as I think it plays into their hands but I get wanting to mess with stuff like that in a game you know you'll win. Jackson looked great and it was good to see Maye get some buckets. I think we need to work to get Williams some looks this half. We haven't shoot the ball that well from deep the last couple of games (IIRC) so hopefully we are getting that out of our system before the conference gets rolling.
Maybe the Heels had too much home cooking over the break because the outside shooters are getting no lift on their shots which is resulting on shots banging off the front of the rim.
UNC - G on fire from outside of the arc as they look Texas with 8 threes out of 12 attempts. 55-41 with under 16 minutes to play.
This team is just absolutely pathetic defensively. Wide open 3 pointer after 3 pointer. The only way a mid-major team can play with you is to hit a bunch of three's. We consistently let these teams load up on 3 pointers. I'd like to coach this team defense for 2 to 3 weeks. With 2 to 3 tweaks I'd make this team 10 to 15 points better a game defensively.
Brice looking like he wants to cry for not getting a call is NOT a good look ...he need some Teflon
62-48 as the Spartans are keeping it close. Kenny Williams scores on a layup. Carolina is playing a lot of players which is good but not getting stops against a less talented team is just plain awful.
