Carolina wins exhibition over Ontario

CHAPEL HILL --- The North Carolina baseball team allowed just three hits in an exhibition victory over the Ontario Blue Jays on Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium. Wood Myers went 3 for 3 in the contest with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored and Skye Bolt finished a triple shy of the cycle as he went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.


Hunter Williams started on the bump for North Carolina and allowed just one hit and no walks through the first two innings of the game. Jason Morgan also did not allow a hit or a walk to the Blue Jays while striking out four in his two innings of work.


Adam Pate, Ryder Ryan and Zack Gahagan joined Myers and Bolt with multi-hit days in UNC's win.


Nick Howie went 2 for 2 and recorded a stolen base for the Blue Jays, an 18-and-under team from Toronto that competes in the Premier Baseball League of Ontario.


The Tar Heels will begin their annual Fall World Series at Boshamer Stadium this Friday, Oct. 3, at 5 p.m. and it will continue through the next two weekends.

I saw the updates on Twitter from UNC baseball, but they dropped off after the 7th inning. Last score I saw was 9-0 Heels.

There have been some complimentary tweets about our young guns, including Ryder Ryan and LHP Hunter Williams. Looking forward to hearing more from this weekend's series.
