spent nearly 10 minutes talking about UNC and its worthiness of being in the playoff if the Heels win out. Consensus - David Hale (ESPN ACC reporter), Dan Hawkins, and Mike Bellotti - all said they would be worthy and possibly get in. All agreed beating Clemson in the ACC title game would give them the best win in the country at the most crucial time, and that the committee would put much more weight on how they are playing at the time.
Bellotti was the only one that guaranteed UNC would get in, Hale came awfully close and Hawkins, who at first didn't seem convinced, later came around and said it would be hard to keep them out.
They also did a comparison of Notre Dame and the Heels, and by virtue of beating Clemson, assuming that happens, they all gave a slight edge to the Heels.
Interesting stuff.
