Chansky not backing down a bit

Glad to see he's sticking by his guns. I couldn't agree more about the Wainstein Report, no other school in the country would have pulled the scab off the wound when it was almost healed by commissioning that report. And while it demonstrates the depth of commitment to maintaining the high academic standards we've been known for, saying it was unwise is a gross understatement.

If the NCAA weren't so arbitrary in their interpretation of their ambiguous rules, I wouldn't be worried a bit. A prime example is found in the manner in which the use of ineligible players was handled at different schools. Calipari, UMass, and Memphis were forced to vacate Final Four appearances when Camby and Rose were deemed ineligible, though there was never any proof Cal had knowledge of misdoings. Like Camby, Maggette and Thomas both received money which made them ineligible as well, but because Knight Lite is the media darling, no titles were vacated, indeed no penalties at all were assessed to d00k. And because d00k is a private school, they refused to open their records to scrutiny and basically told the NCAA to pound sand. Huge discrepancies in similar cases have cost the NCAA any vestige of credibility they may have had at one time.

We are currently serving what I believe has been a very severe penalty, to wit forcing us to dangle in the wind while our recruiting suffers immensely and our reputation is repeatedly slandered. This will probably drag on long enough to kill our '16 recruiting efforts, a crucial class in both major sports as we transition to a new scheme in football and potentially lose several players after the upcoming season in basketball. In effect, forcing us to dangle in the wind has potentially set our major sports programs back several years. IMO, that is more than enough punishment.

I say let's round up the NCAA leaders and summarily execute them. It would be well deserved.

Pile on while you can and then hide you face in the sand when the smoke clears..I think I hear your cousin wife asking you to take out the garbage..

To hear idiots like the above UK fan talking about cheating is hilarious. You have a history of cheating and a head coach with 2 vacated final fours. I guess you can speak from experience though.

Not pinning my hopes on Chansky at all, I just happen to believe he's right in this instance.

If they didn't vacate UK's championships when their players were shaving points, by their own admission, it's certainly unreasonable to think they would do it here. As I said in my post above, they had the goods to vacate two of d00k's titles and chose not to.

UK has the dirtiest program in NCAA history, their fans should be the last to cast stones. Unfortunately, most of them don't have the sense to know that so cast away.

Well when it comes to cheating you and your racist buddies are certified experts...now go find a place to wish you had a University to represent and bother us no more, fool.

You've already received 100 times the leeway I would have gotten on that cesspool you call a message board. But your time here is going to be short lived.

UK fans are so consumed with UNC it's become hilarious. They wanna be us just as bad as Moou. It's only a matter of time before they're in a similar situation. They've got Calipari and when you lay with dogs, you get fleas. All the morons that worship him on rupps rafters are the same people that labeled him a cheater while he was at Memphis.

The comments from the mooers dookies etc were/.are predictable

Your thoughts please...................
...as he should. As I have said before the only ammunition the NCAA has is self-inflicted by the self-flagellation of the Wainstein Report... and even with that much of the NOA is pretty egregious NCAA overreach.
Bottom line is that there is nothing concerning men's hoops that is in any legitimate danger of sanctions, and any attempt to go there by the NCAA should be vigorously opposed and could not stand based in the NCAA's own procedures.

We'll gladly accept whatever it is once all the procedures and appeals have been exhausted.

The real question is, will you ABCers be able to accept what was doled out to UNC without your pathetic little girl wimpering attitude crying over that which was handed down.
