Assuming he wants to coach next year, what are his chances of getting a job? There's a rumor that Florida's Jim McElwain may be interested in the Oregon job if it becomes available. That may open the door for Strong to return to Florida.

He's not going to get a head coaching job for a while. He should have no problem finding a job as a coordinator though.

Strong is the only Texas coach in history to have 3 consecutive losing seasons. Right now, every AD in the country must first assume that Teddy Bridgewater made Strong the successful Louisville HC. Strong will not get a major HC job offer until he can dispel that assessment.

Why would anyone leave the fertile recruiting grounds of FL to go to Oregon? I know they recruit Cali but not very well lately.

maybe he doesn't want to play against bama in the sec title game every year and end his regular season with a loss. btw have you seen bama's recruiting this year? maybe their best class ever, with five(!) 5-star recruits. the dynasty ain't going away.

I don't think he is getting another major head coaching job without working his way back up as a DC or HC at a lower tier school.

I fully expect Bama to be the last team standing for this season.

can't believe petrino hasn't put himself out there...i'm guessing jackson returning has his brain set for a title run, but i totally saw him on two planes last week, figuratively of course.

Just maybe, wild Bobby is now tamed. His wife never wanted to leave Louisville. She likely has put her foot down, hard.

But even down on offense, Florida has won back to back SEC East titles. if you can do that, all it takes is finding that 1 great QB or RB, and you could beat Bama and take control of the SEC.

Saban can't last forever.

yes, but there's no sign of him stepping down any time soon. perhaps mcelwain doesn't want to wait that long when he could coach somewhere that doesn't have a dynasty blocking his path to the playoffs.
