Chizik interviewing at EZU ??

Unless he is desperate to have any HC job, he is interviewing just to sharpen those skills and get more from UNC. Next year's team should be at least a wee bit better, and then Chizik could be in fairly high demand to get P5 HC jobs.

It would be a double whammy to lose him and also have to compete with him in the recruiting trail.
Why would ANY qualified HC candidate want to work for an administration that,seemingly out of the blue, just fired a devoted school alumnus/solid head coach and his entire staff for their first losing season (5-7, IIRC) after several very successful winning seasons/bowl appearances, which unfortunately included 2 straight convincing and embarrassing wins over the "hated" Heels??? To me, at least, their action in so doing represents a MAJOR CAUTION warning to anyone considering such employment.
I'd rather hear that Fedora left than Chizik. Chizik's defensive improvement is exactly what made the team better. The defense is what wins games.
Don't speak of what you don't know. Holton Ahlers 6'4" 220 4.68 athlete/dual threat QB Greenville D.H. Conley class of 2018 top 125 nationally we are recruiting him and his father is the P.A. announcer at Dowdy-Ficklen. There have been others , maybe not a lot every year but they are there.
Pirate man here, Ruff is an outstanding individual, a great person. BUT, his record against teams that finished .500 was terrible. He only won 7 games in 6 years. Yes, we beat y'all, the Pack and Beamer's Hokies. Lets face it, we caught all three at weak moments.
East Carolina wants to win a conference championship, if you attended ECU games, you would see the clock management was a joke, at times. You would just see timeouts being called and you just scratch your head. The last three years, our record at the end of each season fell.
The AAC is a great conference. I think people underestimate our conference. Memphis, Houston, Temple, Navy were all ranked in the top 25. That is four teams in the top 25. Then you throw in UCONN, South Florida, they are on the up swing. UCF will be back too. Our AD had no choice in my mind. Ruff was in over his head and if you went to many games, you would see it.
Gene Chizik is a possibility. I doubt it happens, IMO.
Lincoln Riley, will never happen, Ruff and Lincoln were tight. I prefer a defensive minded head man and GC would be a good fit.
Let's face it, GC made your team look like a football team this year. Last year was a joke, we could have scored 85-90 on y'all if we hadn't pulled the starters, after the third quarter. GC would be a great hire for us, I just have my doubts.
If I had to guess, I would guess, Shawn Elliott from USC east.

You are talking about a kid from Greenville and his Dad is the PA guy at DF....Not a good example..Like I said we rarely go head to head with Ezu on kids...Steve Logan has told the story many times how he would have to try and hide kids from both State and UNC because if either 1 offered its was over for him with that kid.... Said Willie Parker was in the bag and a few days before signing day UNC came in and that was it....The only reason James Summers is at Ezu is because he couldn't get into UNC....Its been many more as well....
You said unequivocally UNC does not compete with ECU for recruits. , coming in and offering Fast Willie and getting him is competing.
I don't think you understand. Do they WANT the players the Heels sign? Sure. But if the Heels offer and ECU bothers to offer, the kid is going to the Heels 99.9+% of the time. It's not a competition.
