I asked Coach Chizik after practice about Aaron Crawford and Jalen Dalton:
On redshirt freshman Aaron Crawford getting his first career start, and what was behind the decision to start him:
“His play, his production. We played him a good bit in the James Madison game and he played really, really well. We’re going to play the best guys, the guys that re producing, so that’s why he was able to start”
On Jalen Dalton perhaps being a bit inconsistent in recent weeks:
“Yes, Jalen’s been inconsistent and he’s been playing a little bit high and hasn’t been playing as physical as we want. He knows that, we’ve addressed that with him and he’s worked really, really hard to try to get back into the groove, because he’s not there yet.
“There’s something missing right now, but he’s making some more strides getting back to his old – he hasn’t been the same since his ankle got hurt, but he’s working every day to get better.”
