Who has one?

Real or fake? Why?

When does it go up? When does it come down? If real, what do you do with it afterwards?

Who decorates it? Who takes down the decorations?

What kind of ornaments do you have? Why? Do you have Christmas ornaments or decorations that have sentimental value?

So many questions....

I'll play

Real, because I like the smell and I think they look better

Goes up the weekend immediately following Thanksgiving. Frazier Fir every time

The entire family takes part in some of the decorating but I end up doing most of it. I pretty much take all of it down

Ornaments of all types- some homemade (school made) and some bought in stores. We try to buy a Christmas ornament from everywhere we go on vacation as well. Almost every ornament has sentimental value.

We also use the big bulb, multicolored lights. I have them on a timer so they are on when we wake up.

1) Real. Because, I am not a faggit.

2) Usually day after thanksgiving because the real trees dry out in FL when they sit on tree lot. If you want a dead tree, wait until mid December. It comes down the 12 day after Christmas in January. (Technically, Christmas does not start until 12/25 and ends 12 days later. We are in advent right now). After, the county (Volusia) picks it up and they use it for ocean reef development of FL coast.

3) I put lights on. Whole family decorates over time. We all take down. I deal with lights on house, tree, etc.

4)Too many ornaments to count. We have a real nice Nativity scene we bought last year. Also, have the traditional advent calendar we hide goodies in each day for our daughter. Also, a table advent wreath and candles we light.

What do you do with the people and livestock when they aren't on display?

Real

My wife decorates. This time of the year she knows I don't have time to help.

My wife can tell you the story of every orament on the tree.

They are ceramic. It is indoor display, not outdoor. So ,they are only about a foot tall (people). We put in a bin in the attic.

Fake because I have bills and shit.

Went up the day after Thanksgiving. All my ornaments are either homemade or sentimental in some other way.

I'll take it down like... when I have time. When I am a homeowner and don't live in the damn city, I'll buy or cut down my own tree.

Also, white lights. Period. Multicolor is a no on a tree. On the house is fine.

I'm lazy. I love everything about a "real" Christmas tree except stringing the lights. I literally will go batshit crazy trying to deal with those things. For the sake of peace in our household, we go with a fake, pre-lit tree.

Now, is this something you can do from your apartment, or do you have particular spots around town where you do all your people watching?
I sit on my apartment balcony and do it. It's not in Bengali, so I don't think anyone in my apartment understands me. I understand me, though, and that's all that matters
