Rivals just recently released their updated Rivals 250 rankings for the class of 2023 and there was only one North Carolina commit to make the list,
Christian Hamilton, a 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver from Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg, NC, comes in at No. 116. The 4-star prospect is the highest ranked Tar Heel commit in the 14 man class.
Also making the list at No. 199 is four-star defensive end Desmond Umeozulu, who has the Tar Heels in his top 5 list. Umeozulu will be making his commitment on August 29.
DEANA'S TAKE: "Some Tar Heel commits have a chance with outstanding senior seasons to move into the rankings like players like Rico Walker and Kaleb Cost. Also, defensive end target Daevin Hobbs has been creeping up in the rankings as well."
