• The Tar Heels are now 12-2 overall, 1-0 in the ACC and 8-0 at the Smith Center.

• The Tar Heels return to action Saturday at home at Noon vs. Georgia Tech. The game will be televised on the ACC Network.

• Carolina is 130-20 against Clemson, including 58-0 in Chapel Hill.

• Roy Williams is 762-204 as a head coach and 344-104 at Carolina. He is 11th all-time with 762 Division I wins.

• Williams is 18-2 vs. Clemson as UNC’s head coach. The Tar Heels have won 18 of the last 19 meetings.

• This was the 26th time in 28 games that the Tar Heels have beaten the Tigers by 10 or more points in Chapel Hill.

• Carolina is 52-11 in the first ACC game of the season.

• Carolina shot 50 percent from the floor, the 10th time in 14 games this season UNC has shot at least 50 percent from the floor.

• The Tar Heels shot 50 percent in both halves. That’s four consecutive halves at 50 percent or better and 16 of 28 halves this season.

• UNC has shot 50 percent or better from the floor in four straight halves and five of the last seven.

• Carolina scored 80 points. This is the 10th consecutive games UNC has scored 80 or more and the 12th time this season UNC has reached that mark. The Tar Heels are 224-28 in 13 seasons under Roy Williams when they score at least 80 points (11-1 this season).



PLAYER NOTES

• Marcus Paige led Carolina in scoring with 18 points and had a season-high five rebounds. It was the third time this season and the 30th time in his career he led the Tar Heels in scoring.

• Paige made one three-pointer to extend his school record mark to 243.

• Paige has made a three-pointer in a school-record 38 consecutive games (last 30 games of last season and his first eight games in 2015-16). The previous record was 34 games by Shammond Williams, Rashad McCants and Hubert Davis.

• Paige made a season-high eight field goals.

• Brice Johnson, Carolina’s leading scorer entering the game and UNC’s top scorer in the last four non-conference games, had three points and a game-high nine rebounds. He came into the game leading the ACC in field goal percentage but made 1 of 8 from the floor. The three points were his lowest output since he had two points at Georgia Tech late last season.

• This was the first game this season that Johnson did not score in double figures.

• Isaiah Hicks matched his season high with 14 points and tied his career high with six rebounds.

• Hicks has scored in double figures in the last six games, the longest stretch of his career.

• Theo Pinson scored a career-high 13 points and grabbed six rebounds, four on the offensive boards. His previous scoring high was 11 against Fairfield and Kansas State.

• Pinson was 5 for 5 from the floor, including 3 for 3 from three-point range. The five field goals are two more than his previous career best and the three 3FGs equal his previous high.

• Joel Berry II had 16 points and four assists and did not commit a turnover.

• Kennedy Meeks missed his fifth straight game due to a bruised bone in his left knee.
