We would beat Kentucky by 20 if we played them today.

I'm sure that will change and they will gel more as the season goes on, but for them to be tied with us in a preseason poll of teams RIGHT NOW is ludicrous.

No he has not been cleared and truth is if he was our commit I seriously doubt he would be cleared but the NCAA seems to fall over themselves to clear Ky players, I mean Kal almost got them to clear a professional player from europe. I am expecting kal to try to get Rondo cleared to play a few more seasons for him any day now. You don't think he will let a little thing like a team being formed just so Skal can play ball outside of high school and his handler shopping around for the highest bidder to stop him now do ya?

Without skal I do not know if Ky is a top 20 team, not sure they are top 10 with him. I don't get duke being considered top 10, at least to start the season and why the heck is UVa not at least top 3? I think we are top 3, I think Uva is as well, I would add Md to that top 3 mix.

We have Poythress, Lee, and Willis as well. During SEC media day, Calipari said Skal is good to go.

But to say without Skal we're not top 25 is kinda laughable. I'd like to know 25 teams better than us.

jc, when Calimari gets the update on "amateurism" get back to us here, I'd love to know the intimate details since the NCAA is still smoking that over...as I understand Skal is under scrutiny still...and not near finished (if you trust Andy Blatz... ).

Y'all should be undefeated again after that grueling SEC schedule and really battle tested...just like last season. Hope UNC runs into those mighty, mighty cats in the tourney, if the 'Heels are lucky enough to even get there. Maybe UNC will even be healthy this time...give y'all a better game.

Your own coach said your team stinks right now. So yes, you'd get dominated by at least 20 if we played a game today.

With skahl I would still put Unc Maryland Kansas and Virginia ahead of uk. He is no Anthony Davis and will get pushed around in the post! If they don't get him they could be introuble but will stay in the top 25 cause of that awful league they play in and rack win after win every year but come tourny time they can't hide in the sec anymore!

I agree in no way are we on the level of unc right now. but I am curious to see if cal can take this shorter bench and develop a nice team by March.

I've seen cal do his best coaching with 6 to 7 guys and get them to buy in to roles on a team. that year kantner sat all year and Harrelson became that low big man setting solid screens and rebounding. by March knight was running that team from the point while Liggins became a all def team member. lamb bought into his role as a knock down shooter with jones being the go to guy when we need a basket down low. and of course miller was the back bone.

this is my all time fav team. and in my opinion cals best coaching job. but they did not start off that way. losses to ole miss and other low ranked schools made a lot of fans start looking to next year.

hopefully cal can get these guys to buy in to roles. if not it will be a disaster like 2013-2014 year.
