Coach's Corner: Ian Jackson's Play And Probable Commitment Window

Everyone seems to believe it's still Kentucky.

Hopefully we are still in good shape with Boogie Fland if Jackson doesn't pick us.

I'm also really confused about Trentyn Flowers. He put us in his final 5 (and then Joe Tipton tweeted out that Kansas has been added to make a final 6, which is weird bc Tipton made the edit for the final 5.) Has our staff been to any of his games in the last couple of months? Has he taken any Chapel Hill visits? With him being so close by, and with there being no news or chatter about him lately, I had started to assume we had moved on.

Join the Family, Mr. Jackson!

We have a history of making Jacksons famous!

IDK, there is a TON of controversy over Kal now from that Ky fan base, they seem desperate now days to run Kal out of town (always was just a matter of time). There are many out there today speculating that Kal could jump to the Texas job even having a big time recruiting class coming in. Would Jack really want to be involved with that, especially considering that the Ky staff could be totally different next season than it is today? I suspect Jack is fully aware of the risk there, I think that is a major issue for Ky getting Jack's commit.

Arkansas, maybe, he is making his announcement on the heels of his visit there, was that because he really liked that visit or because that was the 1 final visit he had to get out of the way before he made his final decision known?

I think the kid is a 3 and as a 3 he would be looking at battling Puff, Powell and Nickel for PT at the 3. While that is for sure a very respectable trio of talented guys I would not say today they look like huge road blocks to Jack for PT from his perspective. WE do have that NY/NJ connection going for us with Hubert, RJ, Wilcher, Cadeau, don't discount that advantage, that could end up being that one final thing.

If you get in to the "way back machine" could history repeat itself? They, UNC fans, were ready to burn Dean in effigy, they wanted him gone and to many, myself included what saved him was bringing in a class of NY kids that gave Dean the reprieve he needed from the fans and ended up in our having for my money the greatest basketball coach to ever walk the side lines. Could yet another NY group of kids do the same for Hubert?

In addition to this, both Cadeau and Brown say they are recruiting Mr. Jackson pretty hard! LIke Brown said, it is a good thing to have an elite, pass-first PG in the fold already!

Go get 'em Hubs!

It's been reported that Cadeau and Jackson speaks on a daily basis, not sure if that will be a deciding factor. Do know that it's being reported that Jackson said he would love to play with Cadeau. Or they could just be close friend, who keep in touch.

A new update says tomorrow he will announce. Coach Davis is in watching boogie fland today, which I would assume means things with Jackson didint come to fruition? Don’t they play the same position. Wouldn’t think both would

Could be wrong . But think boogie is more of a combo guard. Either way Kentucky and Duke have landed multiple high level players that play the same position and make it work. Why can’t we
