My favorite show of the year so far, and color me shocked.
On the one hand, I am THE primary audience for the show. I'm a kid of the 80's, which the show also gave a lot of love ;-) On the other hand, it's a Youtube show, surely it would have low production value, and the story would get old after 5 minutes of being a one-trick pony, right?
Nope. I am impressed that outside of all the sweet nostalgia, it was a *very* funny show. Johnny's unapologetic lack of political correctness made him absolutely hilarious.
I know plenty folks get upset that Hollywood recycles and rehashes old stories, and there is some serious truth to that - but this is as good an example of an old story made new as I can recall. I wish them well in the second season, and I can't wait for it. I hope they can capture lightning in a bottle again.
