Coby White's last high school game. This kid is a solid 6-4 and a true marksman.

I would not call him a marksman yet but he definitely has an eye for the hoop. I see more a lot more playmaker there than I do great shooter and I LOVE the way he's constantly looking way up the court to kick off the break with a long pass. That vision makes me confident that he can develop into a starting level Carolina PG in the next 2-3 years.
Unless something changes I'm making the drive down to Wilson,NC Friday night to see Coby White.

No way man! 247 only has him listed at # 49!! No way he can be considered an Elite Player!
Getting in late with Manley worked out ok, who's to say there's not another one in 2018. Bottom line for me is that I've learned to trust that Roy knows what he's doing.

Guys I went to Wilson.NC to see Coby White tonight and they were blown out. They played a much more talented team and outside of the first 3 to 4 minutes the game was never close. I always tell people I never get too high or too low on a player off of just one game. Here are a few observations. Coby is really the only ball handler on the entire team which limits him playing off the ball. He has a nice looking shot which he displayed during warm ups. He dribbles the ball too high which allows smaller players to get their hands on the ball. I just don't see a point guard in Coby White. At best he's a combo guard but I see White as more of a shooting guard. What puzzled me the most is he rarely used his jump shot in 32 minutes of game action. He drove the whole night and did get in the lane at will. He scored around 15 points and made some good passes but to say I was disapointed would be an understatement. I just didn't see the high caliber player that he was made out to be. Like I said it was only 1 game and I'd like to see him play with more talented players around him. I'll say this in my opinion Coach William's now has commitments from 3 combo guards.(Woods,Felton and White). The problem I see is if Rechon Black isn't a point guard then Coach William's has no true point guard on the roster next season or in 2018 if Berry leaves for the NBA after the season.
When you say you were disappointed, was it because he didn't look like a traditional PG or because he didn't have elite #s? If it's the former, that's a little less worrisome.
Assuming Black doesn't grow to like 6'10, he could still play PG. Seems to be the trend to have a 6'4+ PG nowadays anyway.
It sounded to me like he said he didn't seem to have good enough handles and spent the night moreso driving the lane then looking for teammates.

He plays at Cape Fear Christian next Sat. afternoon. I have a benefit ride that morning but will do my best to attend the game.
Looks like he had a pretty solid all around game to me. Points aside, 6 boards and 6 dimes is not too shabby.

hard to tell in high school game he must play with other talent players. I watch high school kid play many years ago he never looked that great to me.But the next year Big game James looked like complete player in unc game in high school players play all 32 minutes so must control to play whole game.
