• Armando Bacot scored 27 of his game-high 28 points in the second half. It was the first time a Tar Heel scored 27 points in a half since Caleb Love scored 27 in the second half vs. UCLA in Philadelphia in the 2022 NCAA East Regional.
• Bacot was one shy of his career scoring high of 29 set last season vs. Virginia and Georgia Tech (in consecutive games).
• Bacot was 0 for 1 from the floor and 1 for 3 from the line in the first half; in the second, he was 10 for 12 from the floor and 7 for 9 from the line.
• This was the 17th career game Bacot scored 20 or more points.

• Bacot had six rebounds. He remains eighth in UNC history with 1,016.
• Bacot drew 11 fouls.
• This was the seventh time Bacot has made at least 10 field goals in a game.
• Love had 25 points, a career-high nine rebounds and a team-high six assists.
• Carolina is 16-0 in his career when Love scores 20 points.

• Leaky Black was a career-best 6 for 6 from the floor and finished with 15 points, one off his career high. He was 4 for 4 from the floor three times in his career, including the overtime win at Louisville last season.
• This was the 13th time Black scored in double figures as a Tar Heel. He also made two three-pointers, the 10th time he made multiple threes in a game.
• Freshman Tyler Nickel scored eight points in less than eight minutes (7:48), his first points as a Tar Heel.
• The Tar Heels blocked eight shots tonight and have 14 blocks in the first two games (Pete Nance led UNC with three vs. Charleston).
• Carolina is 190-31 all-time as the No. 1 team in the Associated Press poll.

• Carolina is 453-83 in 38 seasons in the Smith Center, including 220-18 against non-ACC opponents.

• The game featured nine lead changes and 10 ties.
• Puff Johnson (sore knee) and Jalen Washington (rehabbing high school knee injury) were not available.
