Colin Moran was mentioned in an article on MLB.com about players who could win the 2018 Rookie of the Year awards. I don't think he will win it based on his current numbers, but it's still nice to see a former Tar Heel receive some positive attention.

Colin Moran was mentioned in an article on MLB.com about players who could win the 2018 Rookie of the Year awards. I don't think he will win it based on his current numbers, but it's still nice to see a former Tar Heel receive some positive attention.

So nice to see Moran balling out for the Pirates. He's been Steady Eddy so far. He won't win ROY simply because the Pirates don't let him start enough games, but there's no shame in that. He has done enough to carve out a spot on that team for next season (IMO), which is awesome for him. His versatility helps too, since he can play 3B and 1B. In today's MLB, if you aren't an everyday starter, you almost have to know how to play multiple positions effectively. The days of carrying a purely pinch-hit bat on the 25 are over.
