Concussions

I've had two Grade 3 concussions (lost consciousness), in car wrecks. One was extremely bad. Broken cheekbone, blood ever-where. If there'd been a passenger, they would have died.

I dunno how many I got playing football in junior high. Hopefully, not many. After watching the film Concussion, I'm sure I had some!

I'm not sure if this would qualify as a concussion, but in high school football I was a 150 lb beanpole that played safety. In one game a 220 lb fullback broke through the line full steam toward me at safety with me the only thing between him and the goal line. The only thing I thought to do was lower my head and try to take out his legs. When he and I met, he knocked me backwards and I saw him go down about ten yards beyond me while I was flat on the ground. When I got up, I staggered a bit and all I could see was stars. I finally shook it off and continued to play, so don't know if it was a slight concussion or just getting the S**T knocked out me.

I’ve had two bad ones from karate. Dont do full contact any more because of them. (Plus everyones 30yrs younger and can kick my ass) first time got thrown off the mat and smacked my head on concrete. The second one was esp scarey. Took an accidental knee to the head. Lost about an hour i cant remember and had bad head aches for several days.

Ever tried BJJ? I’ve thought about getting into it but I don’t really want to spend the money on proper instruction.

My sensei holds a black belt in it and has shown us some techniques. Cool stuff. Grappling and ground fighting is exhausting

Nice! Yeah I’ve heard it is tough. According to a lot of people in MMA, if you do around a year of boxing and BJJ you can take almost anyone.
