CONGRATS TO JOEL BERRY FF MOP . .

My brother and I talked right before and expected Meeks, but hard to argue w berry and his performance tonight either. Two deserving guys

Just retire all their jerseys damn it! So proud of this team, they went through more than any past UNC team over these 4 years man.

I'm not taking away from Berry, but, Kennedy Meeks and his rebounding helped make us as competitive as we were. Justin, Joel were absolutely essential. And, I know that getting Theo back in the starting lineup and healthy made a HUGE impact on the outcome and the success. I think it comes down to a cohesiveness and chemistry of all of them... and, that coach.

Obviously magnificent job by Berry, and he was big tonight - but MOP of the Final Four should consider both games, and on the two game aggregate Meeks was obviously the much superior player. Berry was super shaky in the semi final - he played his guts out, but we won that game with him basically giving us almost nothing, while Meeks was a monster.

I could see the case for Meeks, but no way we win tonight with just Meeks and no Berry stepping up, either. And it may matter to us as fans, but I will go out on a limb and say it doesn't mean much to Meeks OR Berry. Either of them would give up having the jersey in the rafters for the other guy, I believe. They are all self-less, high character, team, family guys.

Totally deserves it, not just for today but his contributions all season. Will forever be remembered as a warrior and a baller.

So what's the future for Kennedy and JB? Does Kennedy get a chance to play in the NBA? Any chance JB takes this performance and enters the draft thinking next year will be a let down and now is the moment? I rather doubt it but one has to think of the possibility. He deserves his time in the light. As for Kennedy- I admire the heck out of what he has accomplished. Someday I think we will see him coaching the bigs at Carolina.

There is still a chance for Kennedy's jersey to go into the rafters. The team and coaches will vote, as they do at the end of every season, for the team's most valuable player. That award, when on a Nat'l Championship team, is one of the criteria to elevate one's jersey to rafters status.
Since Joel and Justin already have theirs, I hope the team takes the opportunity to recognize Kennedy's contribution to what this group has accomplished and add a third jersey to the other two going up into the rarefied air of the Smith Center.

I love Joel but think Kennedy deserved it more after the previous game and then some big plays tonight. It's cool either way. Maybe co- MOPs?
Honestly I would not care if it did not mean so much to the "rafters". Berry played great on Monday night, but without Kennedy we do not even play last night. Last night he did not have the flashy points, but he did ALL of the little things. I would have been fine with Co-MOP's. Meeks deserves to be hanging in the Dome. IMO

That would be sweet if it happens . .

All the more reason why I wish it had been Kennedy as I personally think JB should be voted team MVP.

Agreed, with all due respect to Jackson, I think Berry is the clear choice for season MVP, and Meeks ought to have been FF MOP. On top of everything else Kennedy did, he had the ultra crucial block and then subsequent steal on two of the final Zags possessions. I'm still somewhat surprised Kennedy wasn't named MOP especially after his demolition of Oregon.
