I had to go to Raleigh yesterday for a meeting. We stopped at Smoky's BBQ in Durham for lunch. I had on my Carolina jacket and when we came out of the restaurant, I passed a man and he commented on my jacket. I turned around to say thanks and he stopped and said "it's always good to see someone in a Carolina jacket". I knew he looked familiar, but just couldn't place him. He extended his hand for a shake and said "Phil Ford, nice to meet you". It just floored me. I wanted to get a picture or something, but he was going in for lunch and I just didn't want to bother him. The fact that he took enough time to shake my hand was enough for me. What a great man and a tribute to the great man that coached him.
