If Clemson beats ND in the ACC Championship in a close game, that is what should happen. Bama clearly is #1. ND clearly is #2 right now, having beaten Clemson. And ND's win over UNC only highlights why ND is legit at that high a ranking, even though Clemson was down 4 players at their first meeting. The ND D stuffed Etienne in a way that I would not have guessed possible. That was no fluke, as ND stuffed Javonte the same way.
If your D can totally stuff great RBs, it can disrupt the entire offense and control much of the game. The ND D on paper will not strike many as being that good, but it is. Put that with the ND OL, and both with a QB who simply wins - over a whole career - and you have the potential to beat anybody.
