Sorry I've been spotty on the boards the last couple of days, my wife has been sick and that's meant my three kids under five have been under my watchful eye. So that's a big job, as I don't want to lose them or risk significant property damage.
Okay, I spoke with a couple of the better quarterbacks at Heckendorf's recent camp, Chase Brice and Mac Jones. Brice, the four-star from Georgia, has been impressive just about everywhere he's gone including Clemson where he was offered at the Rivals QB Challenge in Baltimore.
UNC did not offer Brice but it sounds like Heck is going to go to one of his games when the Heels play Georgia Tech this fall. Brice is open to a return trip because he loves Heck's personality and thinks the offense is pretty adaptable for a wide range of quarterbacks, style-wise. He loved the classroom aspect of the QB Academy.
Jones is a Jacksonville, Fla., quarterback with offers from ECU and Kentucky. He's not as big as Brice and that's one knock on him but he throws a really nice ball. He didn't leave with an offer either but Jones really liked UNC. He seemed more interested in Chapel Hill as "the perfect college town," and he seems like he'll remain open to the Heels, too.
