I've spoken with several recruits recently and a couple of nuggets jump out from the latest events.
UNC has offered '17 offensive center Cesar Ruiz of New Jersey and he's already a four-star, a rare accomplishment for a center and especially one so young. He's coached by Malik Brown, who played football for UNC, and Ruiz says he grew up playing video games with the Tar Heels and that's maybe the one offer he's always wanted the most. He's a seriously elite recruit. Will visit this summer.
'17 in-state linebacker Justin Foster told me that Clemson, Tennessee and Wake Forest have been recruiting him the hardest of late. UNC has not stopped communicating with him but he pointed to those three as having the most contact. Wouldn't read too much into that. I do think Tennessee and Clemson will prove to be on his short list, probably with UNC.
