Mack Brown today is just as he was his final years at Texas which got him fired. He's no better in any way now than he was then, which means he either learned nothing or else is just too old to achieve any more even if he learned from his past failures.

Perhaps the Powers That Be intend to ride Mack until such time as he has a strike or some other major health issue, or maybe has back to back seasons like Fedora's final years. But that is no reason to think Mack has anything more in the tank than what got him fired at Texas.

Mack has coached 15 years at UNC without a single ACC Championship.
