...Santo Domingo...! You really gonna' count Kryie Irving if he ever does win one? He played in parts of 11 freakin' games... At that rate UNC could count JRS as well, it would seem to me. Then again, that is just me...

Irving had a very brief dook career but he certainly does count. He can't be blamed for his injuries. UNC fans should understand that very well.

Shaun Livingston never played for Duke. He committed to Duke, but went directly to the NBA.

I'm quite aware of that. I was applying the same logic that ChapelHeeled used in stating that JR Smith should be counted as a former Tarheel if Kyrie is accepted for 11 games.

Yeah, may have been a very short career but if he played 1 game he counts. I have never considered JR Smith a Tar Heel player, he never played for us, he was never issued a jersey and Livingston was never a dukie.

But if you want to discuss just how much he was developed and improved as a player for duke in just 11 games then that is a totally different subject. I think a lot of folk equate how much a kid was developed in his college program from what he was coming in to that program and the truth is in an 11 game total career not a lot of that current success can be attributed to his college coaching.

It'd be even more interesting to track how many guys from each school played significant parts in winning NBA titles vs who was just on the roster and along for the ride....
Key players like Jordan worthy Rick fox Kenny smith Danny green Shane battier Harrison Barnes Scott Williams etc
