CAROLINA NOTES

• The Tar Heels are now 7-1 this season, including 4-0 at the Smith Center.

• The 98 points are a season high (previous 92 vs. Fairfield).

• The 33-point margin of victory is not only the largest margin this year (previous 27 vs. Fairfield), but the 33-point lead was UNC’s largest of the season.

• Carolina scored the first 10 points. That’s the first time UNC has done that since leading Florida 12-0 last year in the Bahamas.

• The Tar Heels grabbed a season-high 52t rebounds (previous 49 vs. Temple) and UNC’s rebound margin of plus-21 (52-31) is its largest this season (previous was plus-17 vs. Temple and Wofford).

• Carolina shot 50.7 percent from the floor, the fifth time in eight games and the second consecutive game that the Tar Heels shot 50 percent or better.

• The Tar Heels shot 51.4 percent from the floor in the second half. That is the sixth time in eight games this season UNC shot 50 percent or better in the second half and the 15th time in UNC’s last 18 games UNC has accomplished that.

• Carolina had 18 second-chance points, two off its season high of 20 vs. Temple.

• Carolina is now 64-11 against Davidson with wins in seven straight matchups and 13 of the last 14.

• The 33-point win was the largest by Carolina over Davidson since an 89-20 win on Feb. 7, 1945. That was 28 games ago in the series.

• The Tar Heels had a season-high 26 fastbreak points, 12 more than their previous high this year (14 vs. Fairfield).

• Carolina’s 47-24 lead at the half was its biggest of the season (previous 11 vs. Temple).

• Carolina limited Davidson to 23.5 percent shooting from the floor in the opening half. That is the lowest percentage an opponent has shot in a half vs. the Tar Heels this year (previous .323, in the second half by Fairfield).

• Davidson averaged 10.6 three-pointers in its first five games and made eight tonight.

• Roy Williams is now 757-203 in 28 seasons as a head coach, including 339-120 at UNC.

• The Tar Heels return to action on Saturday, Dec. 12, at Texas. Gametime is 5:15 p.m.



PLAYER NOTES

• Junior guard Nate Britt matched his career scoring high with 17 points. He also had 17 vs. Fairfield this year and 17 against Syracuse last year. Britt scored 13 points in the first half tonight.

• Britt (17) led UNC in scoring for the second time this season and the second time in his career.

• Britt was 6 for 8 from the floor today. He also made six field goals vs. Fairfield.

• Britt is 17 for 27 from the floor and 8 for 12 from three-point range in the four games in the Smith Center this season.

• Sophomore guard Joel Berry II tied his career-high with three three-pointers. He had 11 points and four assists, his sixth double-figure scoring game of the season.

• Senior guard Marcus Paige hit a pair of three-pointers. He moved past Wayne Ellington into second-place in career three-pointers at UNC with 231. Shammond Williams is first with 233.

• Paige scored 13 points to move past Shammond Williams and Jason Capel into 30th place in UNC career scoring. Paige has 1,449 points, two more than Capel (who was the ESPNU analyst this evening) and four more than Williams.

• Kennedy Meeks had a game-high 10 rebounds, the third time this season and the 18th time in his career he has pulled down double-digit rebounds.
