haha, I had Firehouse for lunch today. Turkey bacon ranch on wheat... remove mayo, add fire sauce. Excellent.
Turkey bacon ranch is a strong, strong sandwich. It's my second favorite behind the Hook & Ladder
Oh and I also picked up a $2 pickle bucket while I was there. Why? 2 reasons. one, I needed another 5 gallon bucket for yard stuff and second (and more importantly) it makes for a nice air freshener in my vehicle, windows up, 88 degrees all afternoon. mmmmmmm dill pickles!
Well on a sandwich for lunch note, my parents took me out to Great Harvest today for my birthday. Got the Baja Turkey sandwich, it was quite good
Firehouse's meatball is tough to beat. I'm a Hook & Ladder fan as well, but the their meatball sub always lures me in.
I will say though, and I'm fully aware Subway sucks, but their meatball sub has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I should hate it, but I don't. I get a special craving for it sometimes. It's like, everyone knows McDonald's cheeseburgers are some of the worst quality, but sometimes you just need to have one. This is pretty much the same thing.

If you want a Subway sandwich that doesn't suck and doesn't taste like generic Subway like all the rest of their sammiches, order as follow:
- buffalo chicken
- shredded mozzarella
- lettuce, green (or banana) peppers
- ranch
- salt, vinegar (oil and vinegar if desired)
Firehouse is legit. There's one two minutes from my house and I tear it up. My go to is the turkey bacon ranch. Knuckle biting good. Surprisingly, as much as I've eaten there, I've never tried the meatball. That'll happen soon now. Good looking out.
If only there were another poaster that could corroborate this story....

Just placed my order online. I find it weird that they add ranch AND mayo when they're almost the same thing, but I'll go for it.
This. And pretty much all of them come with tomatoes if you get them "fully involved."
Got it. Since I could literally treat tomato sauce as a beverage, it's extremely rare that I go into a sandwich shop that offers a meatball sub and order anything but that.
I'm all about their meatball, but you gotta branch out and try something else there at least once. They steam all of their subs, and I've never had anything there I didn't like. Outstanding.
When I order the Italian BMT from Subway I get it w marinara sauce.
The Smokehouse beef & cheddar one has always been intriguing, so I might give it a try.
Hook & Ladder, fully involved. Do it. It's their staple, and every Firehouse customer has consumed it at least once.
Found out this week that the Firehouse Subs closest to my office is gone, replaced by another restaurant. Of course I only discovered this after getting excited about eating there and making the 20 minute drive. I can't begin to express the sadness this event caused in my life.
