I was watching that live, what a disaster. Funny nonetheless.
My chorus teacher's been saying for years she sucks, and now we have the legitimate on stage bust to prove it.
How is that episode proof that she sucks? It was awful, but she didn't actually do any singing for us to judge.
It was hilarious. I didn't watch it live but I saw it the next day. She was thoroughly frustrated.

It was definitely hilarious. She was probably drunk. The dancers kept going like nothing had happened. The crowd was like "WTF are we supposed to do with this?" It was a great moment in New Year's broadcast history.
Speaking of the dancers, you could tell she was not real happy with them. She actually said something to the guy that was trying to spin her around like, "you're doing it wrong".
I don't hold her responsible at all. It looked to me that the production crew made several mistakes (no sound check, no words on the monitors, etc). I actually think she handled it all pretty well and then afterwards, I heard she was gracious while being interviewed by the hosts. I loved at the end how she says, "it just doesn't get any better than that" and turns around and walks off the stage in disgust.
I admit I'm past the point of being willing to pay $100 to get packed into a bar downtown on NYE.
I did feel kinda old just having a few people over for a small NYE party - but it was definitely cheaper and I felt a lot better the next day than in New Year's past.
