Could the way Chancellor Folt handled this Beckman situation affect the way Coach Fedora or Bubba Cunningham look at staying at North Carolina long term?
It was the first thing I thought when I read her statement; this could possibly cause both of them to maybe want to leave us. If you are Coach Fedora and Bubba Cunningham last night, you have to ask yourself, she did this to me because I tried to help a friend by making him a volunteer with the football program. Really, she throws us under the bus over this. She could have supported us in public and reamed us a new one behind closed doors.
For the most part, I believe most Carolina fans believe she's done a good job since coming to Chapel Hill. Hell, with the way the former Chancellor ran the place, she could have never showed up for work a single day and still done better than the spinless individual she replaced.
If we lose Coach or Bubba or both, it will be catastrophic for the program. These two individuals love this University and they have proven it with all their hard work. With what they are building here, they will have the opportunity to move on with the sky being the limit. All because the chancellor didn't give them the support they earned and deserved. Knowing what these two men inherited, it really makes my blood boil.
