1. Cost Drake the Heisman? Probably not because I don't think he would have won it anyway. It may have cost him a trip to NYC for the ceremony;
2. Cost Josh a shot at 1st team AA. I sure hope not but it might have. Because I believe he absolutely deserves to be named 1st team AA, this one bothers me.;
3. Cost the Heels a shot at the CFP? Hell, no. Even if we won out beating GT, NCS and Clemson I don't think we would have got there. This team is just not good enough to play for a NC.;
4. Reveal this team for what it really is. Yes. I.E., because of sub par line play (on both sides of the ball) the Heels are a mediocre team that is nowhere close to being good enough to be considered among the top teams in the land.;
Don't get me wrong, in no way am I finding fault with Josh for having dropped that pass. He is a tremendous football player and physical mistakes are a part of the game.
The point of my comments is that this UNC football team was close to achieving a status that is not commensurate with the its real capabilities. Sometimes teams are "lucky" for an entire season. Ours ran out after a couple of months of winning games with one good break after another.
Happy that we are 9-2 and hope that the line play will be good enough to allow the skill guys to beat NCS at home and win the ACCCG in Charlotte.
That would be a tremendous accomplishment.
