It's either all the storms moving in the Caribbean or we are poised for an early fall. Fall by the way is my favorite season.

Fall used to be my favorite until I had kids. But the summer, as difficult as it is for working parents, has become my favorite season simply because my family is far more active and spends much more time together in the summer.

John,

I think there is a little sarcasm in the OP..... this summer here in the DMV has been one of the mildest and best I can remember.

Lots of rain , temps have been way below the normal most of the time ,Mild winter as well this year

All the rain has created a TON of bugs/mosquiti.... worst summer for those evil creatures I can ever remember

yeah I know Max...Billy loves rubbing it in.

The heat index is supposed to be 109 here today. Miserable outside.
I'm heading up to Pine Valley sometime next 30 days and then back home to NC in late September and can't wait to get out of this TX heat.

btw JB is on Feherty next week. I was there when they setup in our locker room. Should be pretty good!

I will certainly tune in to see JB

Hope all is well with you John..... stay COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

What?!? Here in Central VA, we've been almost at drought levels. Things have improved over the past few days but all the rivers are down. We got like an inch of rain throughout the month of July.

I had one of those "One year ago" reminders pop up on FB the other day...said I posted about it being 79 degrees on that day a year ago. My sister chimed in and said she remembered me calling her from Colorado when I was in a school out there back in the very early 80's and telling her it was snowing...on August 28th.

Pine needles are falling already. I feel like it's been a fairly wet summer here, but I don't know whether the numbers back that up. We had a pretty brutal early hot stretch in June and then a more expected one in July, each for about a week and a half, but other than that it hasn't seemed to be a really hot year.

Of course, being where we are I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to have another string of 90-95 degree days in mid to late August.

Here in Elkin the Dog Days ended about a week ago. You can always tell when you are in Dog Days because the nights stay hot but when the nights start to cool off you know they're over.

This longstanding heatwave is just killing us folks here in the Metro DC area . . hot, dry, muggy, you know how it is.

. . and po' Raleigh, with forecasted 83 degree days for this weekend, and 80 degrees for next Monday & Tuesday. OUCH

Stay safe folks, remember to bring those pets inside and please, please do look in on your elderly neighbors.

My encore azaleas are blooming again, which means fall weather isn't far behind.

I'll be happy with anything less than 90° in the home opener against Cal while sitting on the north side of the stadium.

Harvey is bringing us up to 24" of rain this weekend. City will flood. My street will flood for sure. Lots o fun.
