But, with the win over Oregon, Roy quietly tied the Baron, Adolph Rupp, for career wins. He's also only 3 behind the Dean. Roy will easily fall into the 4th spot all-time by the end of this season. Sadly, he probably won't catch Jimmy B or the Rat for his career, but that's quite a testament to Roy considering he got a late start in the game, had to deal with a Kansas program under sanction when he arrived, and transitioned to another school (aka Carolina Blue Heaven) halfway through his career.

All-Time Wins (Coach)
1. Mike Krzyzewski 1138
2. Jim Boeheim 1051
3. Bob Knight 899
4. Dean Smith 879
5. Jim Calhoun 877
Roy Williams 877
Adolf Rupp 876

If Boeheim thinks that his son Buddy Boeheim is relevant, then ol Roy should pass him in 2027

Roy tied Rupp with the victory over Alabama. With the win over Oregon, Roy has now won 877 games in his career as a college head coach.

Appreciate that info NoLayups. The sports reference site I pulled from wasn’t clear on when it had been updated. Will correct it now.
