Someone please enlighten me as to which 5 dookies start for K and what are the next 4 subs to play on a regular basis?

I think they will likely start Jeter, Jefferson, Ingram, Thorton, and either Allen or Matt Jones. Lots of dukies are really high on Obi, and the last Plum is likely to get solid PT. Those Plums seem to find a way to have really solid senior seasons, so I am kinda expecting the last one to follow suite. I do expect to see more of a small line up a lot, meaning 3 guards and the freshman shooter they have IMO is going to play a lot.

To me the real key for their season is how much they get out of Ingram, I am not as sold on him as many seem to be but he is a big time talent for sure. Is Jeter really ready now or will he take time is another real key for them and can PLum in his last season finally live closer to his incoming hype. No matter what they are going to go as far as 3pt shooting takes them. And can Thorton come in as a frosh and play like the last couple freshman starting PGs have there.

IMO they have a ton of bold question marks and I know, I seem to down play duke every season about this time only to see them some how pull things together and develope into a hard team to take on. But this freshman group IMO is not nearly to the caliber of their last couple, I see a team with little depth other than jump shooting wings. They have a freshman PG and no back up for that kid. I see a front court that will have to rely on guys that so far have not really shown a lot and a freshman that is nothing close to Parker or Ochfor. And their touted 6'9" wing is thinner than Henson was as a frosh as hard as that is to believe.

Touting them as a top 20 team at this point to me is a real stretch so I can not understand their being pre-season ranked top 5. Just my opinion...

Plumless will be in the Dennard Memorial seat...I agree David, the bunch they have are all, without question, good players. How they mesh together will be key. Kid barely rises to the rim to get a dunk in the NCAA's last season and now he's all world. Go figure. And agreed too David, Dook is not a top 5 team.

Well they should get 8-10 points per game based on Coach K's influence over the refs. And since they don't play any road games, they can mess with the clock and possession arrow-- which should be worth about 4-6 points per game. Those are the reasons they are ranked in the Top 20. Nothing else comes to mind.

A very astute observation and one that I concur with 100%.
It appears you have been watching the King Rat from Durham for a good while
and know how he bends, modifies, or breaks many rules and regulations to help pad his records.

DSouthr - that's a solid analysis of our team. At this point we're really young. Our go to scorer (Allen) had a few good games last year and our stud freshman (ingram) I think is going to struggle b/c he's so skinny and we don't have a post presence that can consistently score. I would rank us in the 15ish range at this point.

You do know that by saying that you will be shunned by the DI faithful? LOL

Based on Coach K's comments, the guys expected to get the most minutes are; Thorton, Ingram, Allen, Jones, Jefferson, and Plumlee. Kennard can shoot although his D is unknown. Chase has looked underwhelming but he's young and may get 10+ mins by the end of the year. By all accounts Obi has shown almost nothing.

I expect our D to be top 10ish by the time ACC starts. I don't honestly know what to expect from our O, but if Jefferson and Plumlee remain offensive liabilities, I'd expect either Kennard or Jeter to soak up some of their minutes.

To me we're a top 10ish team with some potential for better than that. Just based on our D I'd be very surprised if we fell out of the top 15.
