I checked some stats from last year to this year and found that Dook's scoring defense is pretty similar.

Below are points per game that they gave up in the games leading up to our game last year and thus far this year. Now, I do not know if any of the points that they gave up either year during this time happened by punt/kickoff/int or fumble returns for TDs. So, this doesn't give you a 100% accurate picture of their defensive ppg average, but it is pretty close.

2014 - Dook played 10 games leading up to our Thursday night game.
Overall, they were giving up 18.1 ppg against all opponents
Of those 10 total games, 6 came against ACC opponents and they gave up 22.5 ppg

2015 - Dook has played a total of 8 games leading up to this Saturday.
Overall, they are giving up 16.1 ppg against all opponents
Of the 8 games, they have played 4 ACC opponents and they are giving up 25 ppg

I believe that Dook has gotten slightly better on the defensive side of the ball, but not drastically. I do think that their defense has been masked by a change of style in offense that is committed to the running game and keeps their defense off the field. Long story short, there is no reason why we shouldn't hang 35+ points on these bums! Go Heels and go to hell Dook!
