I never bought that Dre wasn't a solid CB coach. Just his approach differs from Chizik, and maybe the players couldn't get everything Bateman wanted.

What evidence do we have that Bly was a solid CB coach ? Recruiter, yes, but coach ? Why did MB mutually agree to part ways with Bly if he was so good ? Personally, I am fine with a change in coaches on the defense as it was clearly needed.

He was what UNC needed in 2019 following 5 wins in 2 years. He brought in recruits from literally every position and helped restore relationships with NC high school coaches. Was he a great fit with the coaching staff? I don't think so. I also don't believe he was best suited to coach this style of defense. He's always wanted to be coaching in the NFL and this had been in the works for a while. You mention it was clearly needed, but are you ok with the scheme that the defense is fielding? Because that won't change with an assistant CB coach leaving the program. Why did MB NOT mutually agree to part ways with Cross? Is it because he's good? The DL coach, DC and co/DC is still there after fielding an horrendous defense in 2022.

So you thought that before Chizik arrived, the CBs looked good, they looked like they knew what they were doing, and CB talent was being developed?

Really?

Cross rmeioans because for whatever reason Mack this time chose to let Bly go. Mack is far too arrogant to acknowledge that he needs. major overhaul because he messed top his staff from the beginning. So he waits to make a change when the boosters have had enough and he agrees only to make 1 at a time. The boosters keep letting Mack decided which guy gets cut loose. They back away from forcing him to make sweeping changes. And that means they are allowing him to maintain the rut he has already made.

Bly in the NFL will not be expected to teach fundamentals to players.

Did you think they were in a scheme that best fit their abilities? Did you think all of them gave 100% effort in the run game? Many factors go into the success of a position group and defense as a whole.

Interesting way to cover up you being wrong. You were adamant that he would never get rid of Dre because they were friends, but obviously you were wrong. Now it's he'll get rid of friends if he's forced to by boosters. Can you let me know how you know this? What information do you have that the boosters demanded that Bly be removed and that Mack said he agreed to make one change at a time?

He absolutely will be teaching fundamentals to his DB group and former New Bern Bear and Tar Heel, Mike Hughes, says he can't wait to learn from him.

The secondary was better before Chizik took over than they were this past year with a more talented and experienced roster against a weaker Coastal. That's a fact. And that's after bringing on Warren as well.

I still don't know what you see in this guy to make you believe he's some sort of defensive savant.
