Because Pomeroy's numbers are algorithmically produced, I assume they don't factor in Jefferson's injury or K's situation. So it's plausible that the spread would be wider - possibly much wider - if those are taken into account.

OTOH, neither Jeter nor DeLaurier played against BC and they will reportedly be back. As tall as FSU is, going small could be disastrous.

FSU is much more offensively-oriented this season than usual, from the little I've seen.

Pomeroy ranks them #4 in the ACC on offense (after Duke, Notre Dame and us).

Also #4 in tempo (after us, BC - really? - and NC State)

Plus, #4 in defense (after Louisville, UVa and us).

Probably comes as no great surprise that they also rank #4 overall (after UVa, us and Duke).

Pretty darn consistent.

With Rathan-Mayes being one of his victims, I think they are going to be motivated & focused for the payback. No Jefferson, I'd like to think FSU wins easily but pulling against dook is often such a letdown.

XRM is a killer and I hope he is gunning for some pay back. FSU has the size , athleticism, and strangely enough, the offense to challenge puke. Hopefully they will bring some of the intensity they usually play us with to their game with puke! This is not a good game to be down a big.

I stated before the season that FSU was a team hard not to respect with all that size and they may have the best freshman in the ACC in Isiacs. I see FSU as having maybe the most raw talent in the ACC, maybe even in the country but Hamilton IMO may be the worst coach in the league. If K were on the side lines I would call this one for duke by about 8 but without K, nail biter, will go with duke by 1.

Agree, dook is uncanny at covering the spread (usually winning outright) when they're small underdogs on the road. HOWEVER that is with Ratface on the bench. Hard to say how much coaching could play a role in a game like this, especially if it's tight down the stretch. I still say dook pulls out a close one.
