Hoping someone can make me feel better about my own. TIA.

On day at work we had a discussion about whose family was more dysfunctional. One lady let us all tell our stories and I thought I had it nailed until she started telling her story. It was a tale of sexual escapades and eventually murder....basically left us speechless!!! hahahaha suffice to say she won the day!!!!

My family is pretty awesome tbh. I have a few crazy stories about some uncles or whatever but we have a traditional southern still get together to eat and shoot guns sort of family on my mother and father's side. Everyone pretty much gets along and likes each other. My wife's family is pretty awesome as well.

On my mom's side, lots of stories about lysergic acid.
My dad's side had families that fought and cut people for fun. Thankfully my parents didn't participate with either.
My uncle's on both sides where hellions

Comments about bowel movements/destroying the bathroom

Someone rehashing with glee your most embarrassing child hood moment

Someone new to the group saying something that everyone knows pisses off someone there big time and everyone looks at them like "well....?"

Once again the hosts comment that they "forgot" your wife and daughter are vegan (and have been for like 20 yrs) and theres not a damn thing for them to eat except raw veggie tray

Thanks for the replies. It feels like my family could have it's own soap opera b/c the two sides are polar opposites in virtually every way.

My extended family is basically an episode of Justified -- drug and alcohol abuse, prison, moonshine stills, car wrecks, shootouts with police. Not joking on any of those.

My immediate family is pretty normal, save for us being massive drinkers.

Just to clarify, are you talking about your family or OOTB?

Lol no offense, but in my family gatherings, you'd get no quarter if you brought a couple vegans along, in terms of food options. You'd also get heavily mocked throughout the duration of all meals for being vegan.

This is my favorite thing to do at family gatherings. My dad and aunt are polar opposites on the political spectrum. I sit there and wait for someone to say something remotely political - then make sure that I reiterate what was said, and then ask whichever one I think I'll get a better reaction from, what they think about that. I also have a cousin that is a big time tree-hugger and animal lover, so if someone says something remotely against the environment or animals I can instigate there as well. Then I just crack a beer, sit back, and enjoy the show.

How about one sister in law calling another sister in law's children "devil spawn"........in front of the sister in law........and the devil sp......er...I mean children.

Good times.

oh, I knew you were joking. This mother won't let her kids watch it either. Or Spider-Man. Or anything else.
