I was reminded of this yesterday, the 8th anniversary of her senseless murder.

This young woman was special in every way. Her death at the hands of 2 low life's , now rotting in jail for the rest of their pathetic lives, was beyond a tragedy.

You can contribute to a scholarship fund at Carolina in her name, I have done so for the past three years.

Eve, you are gone but still remembered.

I will hold off on any political comments on this thread, out of respect for Eve. I would just like to say I hope she is resting in peace, and that even though this happened a year before I got to campus, the mere thought of this senseless, heinous act angers me to the point I want to punch something. For no amount of money donated to a scholarship in her name will ever bring her back to this earth, nor will it ever erase the evil that she had to endure.

I will end with this LOTR:TFOTR Gandalf quote which perfectly sums out my feelings that are evoked from thinking about Eve's murder:

"Many that live deserve death; and some that die, deserve life."

I was a sophomore at UNC when she was murdered. And while I never actually had any direct conversations with her, I had seen her at various events (orientation, etc.); I felt like I was punched in the gut when I heard about the murder. I must say that the way the campus/community rallied together in the wake of that was very impressive.

RIP Eve.
