Speed...Power....Incredible determination.... is what he can and will do while in college......If Fedora lets him out of the gate.......

Elijah Hood will be like Willie Parker and be a good player in the NFL while being severely underutilized while in college. Embarrassing

He's no Earl Campbell... not by a long stretch. Looks like a great RB, however.

His head coach is sub-par, however.

The thing that kills me is that Hood feeds off of success and determination. We absolutely cannot blunder opportunities where he is hungry, itching to return to the game after he was the one who got us inside the 5, and keep him bridled. We will ruin him as a player if we do that.

Let the kid play.

Dude are you kidding me? I'd pick Hood 10 times out of 10. I've got tons of family in Clinton -- I'm not going to disparage WP, but I've heard plenty of things. He was also just OK at Carolina, IMO. He bloomed later on once he got to the Steelers and got a lot bigger.

ETA: I also have zero respect for someone (not talking about the infamous three who were excommunicated) who plays at Carolina then goes on Monday Night Football and says his high school name instead of his college. And not to be funny either.

WP at UNC= fumble machine

WP at Pittsburgh in NFL= AllPro

It is what it is (was). Bunting was a moron, but WP situation isn't what made him so. WP wasn't effective, net net, in college.

Back on topic, if he stays healthy, EHood will have a solid pro career, and may be spectacular in college, IF we keep putting stud big uglies in front of him.

I want to see Hood in November before crowning him the next great UNC back. That being said, EHood looks excellent out of the gate this year.

When EH gets that block in front of him he seems to glide into and through the secondary on the way to yet another 35-50 yard run. I do think UNC71 is on the right track. Let's see what a month or two of conference play shows before we crown anyone anything other than he is EH and was the #1 or #2 RB nationally coming in to UNC. If he's on my team as long as he wants to, he can run it.

I think it is really unfair to the kid to label him the next Earl Campbell or the next any other player, let him be Elijiah Hood and that should be good enough for us all. I don't want the kid to feel like he has to live up to such labels, I want him to be the best HE can be and what ever that is I am good with. I am fine with folks that see certain traits a great player had but please don't expect him to become a great back like Campbell was. Because as soon as expectations get set like that and he for what ever reason is not able to live up to them he will be considered a disappointment.

According to ESPN today Hood said that Campbell is his all-time favorite football player. Maybe he's been reading THI...

If so, he knows we are unanimous in thinking he can do the job. He should be our next 1000 yard rusher.
