So the bride and I were supposed to be in Tahoe for the Super Bowl. Drove down to Charlotte and stayed last night so we could make a 7am flight to Phoenix.

Because of fog in Phoenix, flight gets diverted to Albuquerque, where we sat on the runway for an hour and a half. Finally get into Phoenix, get to the gate just in time for departure to Reno and flight gets cancelled. Now we are stuck in the Phoenix airport until 9p, get into Reno at 10 and then have an hour and a half to drive to hotel.

I hate air travel.

Dayum, Rich . . that really sux. I'm sorry that you're having to go through all that . .

At least this airport bar has really expensive drinks and TVs with 19" screens.

It's a colossal cluster f in here. Line for US air customer service is 40 yards long

You buy tickets to the game?

Yep, air travel really sux today. Wasn't many years ago every flight had had was on time and went where it suppose to. My last 2 trips not one single flight has been on time if it even took off and every time I turned around I had to make a different connection!

No, we are just laying over in Phoenix. It was supposed to be 45 min and has turned into 10 hours.

LOL.

Four Peaks Brewery in Terminal 4 has some of the best chicken strips I've ever eaten. That place is probably a madhouse tonight, though.

The experience you are having is similar to what I have experienced many times over. Hence why I rarely take a flight that is not direct without layovers now.

Once I missed a flight connection in Atlanta because they could not get the airplane door open to let folks off the plane.

It was because of the connecting walkway that was malfunctioning. There was an empty gate right next to us and folks were yelling to the captain to back up and move to neighboring gate. He refused.

An hour later, he backed up and moved to next gate (as originally suggested) and most folks, including me, missed their connections......

When we flew to hawaii we sat in the tarmac for three hours in atl for a maint issue that supposedly was gonna take 15 min. Then we flew 12 hrs just to miss our connecting flight. After a 6 hour layover we get to hawaii at 4 in the morning. Some 24 hrs after we left. Of course all our luggage was lost. So the whole next day is completely lost due to exhaustion and having to go buy clothes.

But the real question is, did you at least get drunk enough to get cut off...AFTER already laying down a fairly good tip because the bartender, up until that point, had been pretty cool...?

If not, then you aren't on my level.

J/k. I'm sorry about your travel delays and frustrations. Those seriously are the worst.
