I'm on board with this thread. Due to an employee "leaving to pursue a different opportunity" (anyone else hate this phrase? Just say they quit lol), I've suddenly taken out more responsibilities than I had before.

For the same pay, mind you.

I like my job - I just don't really like getting up to go there.

And I wish they allowed sweat pants Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Being self employed can be worse at times. I never get away from work. Day or night. 9-5 and free weekends is dreamy to me. But I can't make the jack I can by working for myself

A perk for being self employed. I put my guys on 4-10's. By doing this, I manage 3 day weekends frequently. I fell into a money pit by changing from residential work to commercial. Grossed 1.2 mil last year. Never billed for alot of my contracts so I could defer them till next year. Has been quite lucrative the last year or so. As long as the contracts keep coming, I will be in the drivers seat. I am missing that supervisor who will assist me in estimating and day to day management. Asked a good friend who would excel at that spot. He turned me down. He could have made 100k last year had he jumped on board. Thanks to the good Lord for what he has blessed me with

With my apologies to Jeff Foxworthy but....
You might be a work-a-holic if you like holidays because your commute to the workplace is much easier.

I kinda like the job I have now. It's a 2-2-3 schedule. Getting ready to switch to a 3-3-4 schedule, if I take 3 workdays off one week, I'm off almost two weeks. Work 6.5 months a year, get paid for 12. Between this and my side business and Uncle Sam's monthly allowance, life is berry, berry good.
