CAROLINA has shot 50.7 and 50.0 percent from the field in the first two games, including 53.1 and 54.8 percent respectively in the second half. UNC has shot 50 percent or better in the second half in 11 of the last 12 games dating back to last season.

LEADING SCORER: Britt led UNC today with 17 points. It is the first time in his career he has led the Tar Heels in scoring.
THEO PINSON: Established career highs in points (11) and assists (8) vs. Fairfield. His previous highs were seven points on four occasions (three times last year and Temple) and five assists three times (including Temple). Pinson made seven three-pointers as a freshman and is 3 for 6 from beyond the arc in the first two games.
ASSISTS: Pinson has led the Tar Heels in assists vs. both Temple and Fairfield. He has a team-high 13 assists in the first two games.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Brice Johnson (16 points, 11 rebounds) posted his second double-double in as many games. He has 12 in his career. Johnson tied his career high with eight made free throws today.
MEEKS’S BOARDS: Kennedy Meeks had eight points (six in the first 4:15) and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds and had a career-high four steals. Meeks has a team-high 23 rebounds in the first two games.
JOEL BERRY II: Tied his career scoring high with 15 points and three three-point field goals. He also had 15 and three 3FGs at Georgia Tech last year.
POINTS OFF TURNOVERS: Carolina out-scored Fairfield, 22-0, in points off turnovers. That’s the first time since Jan. 3, 2015, at Clemson, that UNC did not allow a point off a turnover. Carolina has committed just 19 turnovers in the first two games.
