I will be in Atlanta this weekend with daughter at volleyball tournament, where us a good place to hook up with other carolina fans and watch the game Friday night?
Lol, there's probably 1000 streets, roads, courts, and avenues named Peachtree in ATL.There used to be a place on Peachtree a few years ago but i'm not sure if that's still the case, can't remember the name of it but I have heard Hudson Grill in Midtown although I haven't been there. My nerves are so bad when Carolina plays that I spend time at home watching it most of the time. If I throw a beer thru the TV at least its mine and not the establishments.. I have noticed that we are pretty spread out here. During the tourney you can find us at just about any sportsbar.. Twin Peaks, Taco Mac, Applebees or Hudson Grill.. Twin Peaks may be the best of that list.
As we say down here. it's a myth that every street in Atlanta has Peachtree in its name --- only half of them do.Lol, there's probably 1000 streets, roads, courts, and avenues named Peachtree in ATL.
If not more. The city planners weren't and aren't too bright.Lol, there's probably 1000 streets, roads, courts, and avenues named Peachtree in ATL.
as someone who lives in atlanta and loves atlanta yes this is a major issue. If not more. The city planners weren't and aren't too bright.
The odder thing is Georgia calling itself the "Peach State". I believe one county in SC grows more peaches than the entire state of GA.Yes I get it but when I say Peachtree i'm typically talking Peachtree Street.. the main one LOL.. but yes you are correct..

The only thing I don't like about STATS is if your sitting at the bar, the screens above you are so high. by halftime you have a crook in your neck. Other than that I love STATS. Don't sleep on Twin Peaks in Buckhead either.. for several reasons besides the cold draft beer... Think of Hooters with a better menu and decor.Check out this this page on my website. http://www.openingdaygame.com/#!copy-of-sports-bars/c16vo
We list the best Sports Bars in Atlanta. We also list the best 1,500 best sports bars in the country. My top 3 in Atlanta are Bench Warmers, Hudson Grill and Stats. The rest are pretty good also. We have a very thorough screening process for the sports bars. You really can't go wrong with any of the Atlanta sports bars. They are the best of the best!
Perhaps I need to be at Hudson Grille for the game. I haven't been there since I watched a Carolina football game there a couple of years ago.Damn, didn't know there were so many fellow Atlantans on the board. I can agree with someone above that said their nerves get so bad that they have to watch at home. I can only watch it on the big screen with DV-R.
I've heard that Hudson Grille in Midtown does have a ton of UNC fans though so you may want to try there!

Plus, at STATs you need a group of at least four to sit at the tables that allow you to pump your own beer (which is pretty darn cool...... if you have three other friends lol). Additionally, there's really no reason to go to STATs unless you're going to a Falcons or Hawks game. Twin Peaks in Kennesaw is way better than Twin Peaks in Buckhead, but obviously it's way out in Kennesaw. The only thing I don't like about STATS is if your sitting at the bar, the screens above you are so high. by halftime you have a crook in your neck. And agreed with those who say they can't watch a Carolina game at a bar. I cannot do it. Just can't. I have to be able to hear and also have to be in my own home so I can rant and cuss and not get thrown out or committed.
I mean, if I'm at a bar or something, I can control myself if the situation dictates......but I find myself not paying attention to the game (if it's just a regular season game) because of all the distractions of food, people trying to talk to you, etc. etc.Exactly. My GF early on thought it would be a good idea to pair UNC games with going out to a bar with friends, or going out to dinner (obviously at a place with TVs), while simultaneously watching the game. She has since about-faced and now demands I watch the games at home as to not embarrass her in public with some of my loud elicit "commentary".

You said it, not me!Ya that's something I have some difficultly with, must be the yankee in me
Because there's a lot of natural pauses and breaks in football. Basketball has too much consecutive game actions without breaks for it to work as a bar sport, IMO.The sports bar environment is much better for NFL games..
