There used to be a place on Peachtree a few years ago but i'm not sure if that's still the case, can't remember the name of it but I have heard Hudson Grill in Midtown although I haven't been there. My nerves are so bad when Carolina plays that I spend time at home watching it most of the time. If I throw a beer thru the TV at least its mine and not the establishments.. I have noticed that we are pretty spread out here. During the tourney you can find us at just about any sportsbar.. Twin Peaks, Taco Mac, Applebees or Hudson Grill.. Twin Peaks may be the best of that list.

I would think the Alumni Association might have an idea where some spots would be for Heels fans as well.
They are always doing the Alumni gatherings...just a thought.

Lol, there's probably 1000 streets, roads, courts, and avenues named Peachtree in ATL.

We list the best Sports Bars in Atlanta. We also list the best 1,500 best sports bars in the country. My top 3 in Atlanta are Bench Warmers, Hudson Grill and Stats. The rest are pretty good also. We have a very thorough screening process for the sports bars. You really can't go wrong with any of the Atlanta sports bars. They are the best of the best!

Damn, didn't know there were so many fellow Atlantans on the board. I can agree with someone above that said their nerves get so bad that they have to watch at home. I can only watch it on the big screen with DV-R.

I've heard that Hudson Grille in Midtown does have a ton of UNC fans though so you may want to try there!

The only thing I don't like about STATS is if your sitting at the bar, the screens above you are so high. by halftime you have a crook in your neck. Other than that I love STATS. Don't sleep on Twin Peaks in Buckhead either.. for several reasons besides the cold draft beer... Think of Hooters with a better menu and decor.

Perhaps I need to be at Hudson Grille for the game. I haven't been there since I watched a Carolina football game there a couple of years ago.

That's what I would do if I wasn't so anal about wanting to hear everything, wanting to fast forward and rewind AND wanting to post on here lmao.

Plus, at STATs you need a group of at least four to sit at the tables that allow you to pump your own beer (which is pretty darn cool...... if you have three other friends lol). Additionally, there's really no reason to go to STATs unless you're going to a Falcons or Hawks game. Twin Peaks in Kennesaw is way better than Twin Peaks in Buckhead, but obviously it's way out in Kennesaw.

And agreed with those who say they can't watch a Carolina game at a bar. I cannot do it. Just can't. I have to be able to hear and also have to be in my own home so I can rant and cuss and not get thrown out or committed.

Exactly. My GF early on thought it would be a good idea to pair UNC games with going out to a bar with friends, or going out to dinner (obviously at a place with TVs), while simultaneously watching the game. She has since about-faced and now demands I watch the games at home as to not embarrass her in public with some of my loud elicit "commentary".

I mean, if I'm at a bar or something, I can control myself if the situation dictates......but I find myself not paying attention to the game (if it's just a regular season game) because of all the distractions of food, people trying to talk to you, etc. etc.

I just like to be at home where I can listen to the commentary and freak out if I choose to do so. Watching at a bar can be a blessing sometimes, though. A few years back, I watched one of our numerous losses to Duke at Cameron at a bar in Valdosta, Ga. The TV was sorta far away so I couldn't see as much, and they were playing music instead of TV volume. So between that and the alcohol, I was able to not feel too bad about the loss, since it was out of sight, out of mind.

Ya that's something I have some difficultly with, must be the yankee in me ;)
You said it, not me!

It happens to the best of us. I lost complete control towards the end of the ACCCG against Clemson last year. Had some exchanges with some Clemson fans that I'd like to forget (but in fairness, I don't remember them very well as it is, so forgetting won't be that hard).

The sports bar environment is much better for NFL games..
