Easy enough... Favorite TV shows ever? My ulterior motive here to discovering TV shows that I'm sure I'm well late to the party to. I definitely have a small attention span when it comes to TV shows and rarely make it through even if I like them. I really liked The Blacklist, but the moment I felt that it started lagging, I just stopped watching it.

All Time:
1. The Simpsons
2. Breaking Bad
3. The Office
4. American Vandal (shows my immaturity)

Trying to start The Wire, Silicon Valley, Billions.... There's just too many quality shows for the hours in a day. Any recommendations?

Those top 3 of yours are all pretty great (if you haven't checked out the UK version of The Office, it's worth watching); I haven't watched American Vandal yet but heard it was great.

As for those others, The Wire is one of my top 3 shows of all time, along with The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. Silicon Valley is very funny, one of my favorite comedies currently on television. I've heard Billions is good, but haven't watched it as of yet.

I would endorse all of the ones that @grillheel mentioned in his poast as well. Beyond those, I would add the following

Game of Thrones
Mad Men
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Seinfeld
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Fargo
Arrested Development
Parks and Recreation
Community
30 Rock
Deadwood
South Park
Rick and Morty
Sherlock
Firefly

Between all those and the ones from the TV Tournament, you should have enough to get started.

I love the Office; American Vandal is pretty funny too.

Other comedies you might like: Archer, 30 Rock.

If you’re looking for something new, I just finished The Alienist - a 10 episode series on TNT. I didn’t read the book but I liked the series. Sort of a true detective type story but set in 1890’s NYC. I assume they will rerun it, or it will be on Netflix soon.

All time is pretty hard to list. I've found that many shows I used to love don't really hold my interest if I watch them today. Some that I was indifferent to back when younger, I kind of enjoy now. Every now and then I'll even watch Little House on the Prairie on some obscure channel and I never watched it when I was a kid. I think the slower pacing of this show relaxes me.

Some of my favorite shows to watch right now, include:

NEW
Riverdale
The Magicians
Ozark
The Men Who Built America: Frontiersmen
The Mick
Vikings

Big Bang Theory (though it's not as much "must see TV" as it once was for me.)

RERUN/OLD
Scrubs
The Office
Rome
Top Gear (US & old UK)

I tried watching The 100 on Netflix or Amazon Prime and after about six to eight episodes I realized I hated every character except one and was hoping they'd kill them all off. With the one sole exception, there was no character I cared about.

Lol that's the first time I've ever heard anyone else mention this show. It's on Netflix. I'm a sucker for bad scifi so I've watched more of it than I'd like to admit. I think there's four seasons now, and I have no idea how it has gotten picked up for that long. The premise of the first season was reasonably interesting but after that it's just basically clan battles clan, rinse and repeat.

I loved the premise, I just couldn't stand the characters. Lincoln (had to check IMDB to remember) was the only character I liked when I gave up. Glad to know I'm not missing anything by not sticking it out.

Sorry to bump this but I started a binge watch of Breaking Bad and I know there are some fans on here. I am a few episodes into the second season and generally enjoy it, though it's kind of a constant downer. I find myself liking the Jesse character the most though most are well acted.

My question, without spoilers is if it just continues to get darker and worse for Walt for the entire five seasons? As much as I lie it, I am not sure if I can last if they make him more unlikeable going forward. I need to have someone to pull for. Right now, that is just Jesse. Well, and Walt Jr. But he is more of a side character right now.

Walt does continue to go dark, but his interplay with other unsavory characters will have you pulling for him. At least I did anyway. FWIW

It's going to stay dark, but to me that was one of the best parts of the show. This mild mannered teacher turning into a meth maker who is just trying to pay the bills, but then gets sucked down even more. His intent is noble in his mind. His relationship with Jesse is one of the best things too. How it develops and evolves is interesting.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll see it through. Might just need to balance it with some lighter show. Maybe it's time to finally start Stranger Things...

Stranger Things is really good, it's not necessarily light though there is some comedy in it. But definitely stick with Breaking Bad, I promise it's worth it. I've watched the whole series through 4 or 5 times and I generally pick up on something that I missed or it plays in a different light on a repeat viewing. It's one of the best crafted shows I've ever watched. The spin-off Better Call Saul is also pretty amazing, it's lighter than BB because it focuses on a more comic relief character that you'll meet soon enough.

Two of my favorite currently airing shows are The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine Nine. You can watch s1 of Good Place on Netflix, and all 5 seasons of B99 on Hulu. Both are very funny with great ensemble casts. Looking forward to season 5 of Arrested Development and season 4 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt hitting Netflix next week

Being a teen of the 80s, I watched "The Dirt" last night. If you haven't seen it or the trailer, it's the story of Motley Crue. I liked a few of their songs back then, but the fact that "Home Sweet Home" was my favorite should tell you that I wasn't their target audience.

But, since they were so much a part of the culture for a brief time, I did enjoy the rockumentary. The one band member I never knew about -- Mick Mars -- in some ways stole the show with his "grumpy old man" stichk. I don't know how much older he was than the others, but he seemed to be the one who was best able to keep it together. There are appearances by "Ozzy (the actor has the voice nailed)" and "David Lee Roth" that help bring the larger music world in, along with Heather Locklear, since she was married to Tommy Lee.

If you remember the band, it's worth a look. It's frank about some of their decisions and doesn't take itself too seriously. You'll likely laugh a bit. They are often fond of breaking the fourth wall and talking to the camera to add information to what's being presented.
