I think Fed & staff would see some increase in compensation and hopefully stay intact. That is the real issue, but I think UNC can keep everyone happy. Nice place to live, kids are jumping at the chance to join the freak show and on a side note the freak show is just starting, if Fed and staff are still dominating in 2-3 years then we have a new topic to post.

I think 2.8?
I went and looked it up, and he's at 1.9; every other ACC coach listed was making a higher base salary. IF we make the ACCCG, we are going to have to pony up more than 3.5, I would think. James Franklin is making 4.4 at PSU, and similar to Fedora, he stepped into a program with some issues.

No, his total compensation is over 2.7... don't know how many times it has to be pointed out that UNC plays shell games with coaches salaries. We do it with Roy as well, can't get the fanatics on our faculty too upset. Have to ease them into the boiling water.

ahh... ok; this was just the base then. Either way, I would think he's going to get a nice pay raise after this season.

My Reasoning for that number ($ 3.5 Mil)is the following

1. I Think It is what UNC can afford
2. It would put him above Dabo (for now), and Make him the second highest paid in the ACC, Behind Jimbo
3.We need to factor in the coaching staff, and the raise they are due
4. This is Assuming no concrete offers from a "destination school" Like Georgia, SoCal, Texas etc, who have blank checks

But Like I said im just guessing..

If you want Full details of Fedora Salary, This link below is full of info...Really great info on how they structured it, with raises, buyout info, etc.

yes it's been pointed out numerous times but no one ever seems to be able to back these statements up.
we are a public university, we can't play the shell games you speak of.
now is the camp income included in these numbers? i don't know but usually the camp income goes to augment the assistants salaries.

roy is the biggest chump around to take what were paying him.

So glad to see LFed doing well for you guys.

I dont think you guys have to worry because there are very few jobs he would think of leave for. If one of the bigger texas schools Am or UT came open he might would jump. I think one of the kids is at ut.
The only big check you should worry about is if someone happens to Hire Gundy from okie state. T Boone is quite fond of LFed.

Honestly, Fedora would command somewhere in the 4.5-5.0 range IMO. He's won his division 2 of his 4 years here (even though the Heels couldn't qualify in his 1st season, has markedly improved recruiting, and has instilled a winning mindset in the Heels. For a team to steal him away, I'm thinking they will have to offer him Nick Saban level money.

The good there in that possibility is that Stillwater is an ugly town. West of OK Green Country is an eye-sore landscape.

not sure i think he is quite at the "mega $'s" level ... do next year what he has done this year and he may need a dump truck to the $ to his bank ! i could not be more pleased with what he has done thus far !!!

And he's done all this operating under a thick black NCAA cloud. Pretty remarkable.

I liked the plugged nickel line.
I thought it was cool too. And consider the timing; about 30-45 min. before he called a T.O. w/ 32 sec. left, b4 a 4th down PUNT that we didn't even need to execute, against a team that lives on special teams big plays, if ole' Red Bull Brain doesn't zone out in deep brain freeze and just lets the clock run out.

In all seriousness, the guy is a helluva program builder...the way he has put the pieces together in terms of personnel and development, particularly in light of the cloud he's operated under, has been pretty terrific. And he seems to recognize his greatest limitation, the game coaching aspect (the very limitations those here who want to blast me for describing, either claiming he doesn't have game coaching issues or that they don't rise to the level that I ascribe), and has addressed it by surrounding himself w/ truly top-rate assistants. Fedora has an eye for talent, of both the player and coaching variety.

Im not gonna rip Fed too much because the end justifies the means, but I don't think your position that Fed makes some truly stupid decisions in situations where there is no excuse for such is off the mark at all.

But try to relax a little Grid. We are still winning.

Yes, we are....and Fed deserves a lot of credit (despite himself, sometimes). Maybe we could get him a shock collar, and set it on Auto to engage in the 4th Q...if he starts over-thinking things.

Or maybe the assistants could just tell him?

That's what I don't get- how does one of his guys not remind him of down and distance?

I keed, I keed.... ;)

Seriously, this is the 2nd time in 4 weeks that he's mentally lost the down and distance. Dook goal line and then the 4th D at VT when the clock could've just ran out. SOME KIND OF PROCESS needs to be put in place to prevent that Mickey Mouse crap.

Fact of the matter is, our turnaround this year is solely because of the new hires we made in the offseason, specifically Chizick. People will say well that was Fedora's move. Get real! Fed had no choice but to make some big hires given the eggs we were laying on the defensive side of the ball. You read all the commentary around the program especially those clips from our players and not one has contributed the newfound success to Fed. Not one! They all refer to the energy, expectation and scheme of the new guys on staff. That tells you who deserves the pay day and who doesn't.

Have to agree here. There really is no defending that bonehead TO. But I have been trained in such situations to not let anyone see me overreact to such things before letting the calm settle and perspective set in. See I am a married man guys. My wife, as some women do at times, says and does some of the silliest damn things you could ever imagine from someone so smart. But do I try and correct her? Nope. Do I even say anything? Nope. I take that 3 to 5 seconds before speaking to remind myself: Pretty lady, ugly dude, great kids. Then I take that breath, suck it up and get her back regardless.

I come to this site to read about football and instead get some good marriage advice. I need to try that being quite thing.

we can quibble about who should get credit and who should not, but what we can all agree on is that if any of these coaches leave after the year it is more than likely gonna disrupt what we have going on and it's back to the drawing board by and large. Yea, it'll be good for a year like most coaching changes, but it's after that year that we won't know about till we are in it. So here's to keeping our coaches! Pay 'em!

Exactly the lesson I have been hard pressed to learn. lol
