For anybody who watched the game “sharing the ball 🏀 and trusting your teammates” were the keys to the win over Georgia Tech. I have not seen the official stats but making the extra pass lead to at least 15 assists (5 by Love) as the TarHeels with accurate passing got a bunch of dunks and layups instead of settling for a ton of three pointers as the shot clock expired.

The emphasis in getting the ball to Bacot who had a four inch advantage over the tallest defender was a great decision as was the guards going to the hole and scoring or being fouled.

Cannot say enough about the spark that Trimble gave the team as he looked to pass instead of scoring and that lead to a 11 -0 run to end the first half that put Carolina ahead to stay.

This could be a stepping stone for things to come if the team continues to share the rock and to trust each other more and more…

It looked a lot like UNC basketball! Increased pressure and effort. Moving the ball and themselves. Sharing the ball and dropping off to get the best shot. Protecting the paint and rebounding with effort. Reducing turnovers, including the bad shot turnovers! Washington getting game action and scoring with touch! I hope this is a sign that it has clicked. We'll see tomorrow if they continue to build off this!

Caution TP, I want to see us play like we did in parts of the game vs GT against a team that can throw size at our front court. It is one thing when the opposing center is giving up 5-6" and 30-40lbs to Bacot but let's see how it plays out when there is similar size inside the paint. That is where I think Washington will make a huge difference.

I don't do caution when it comes to optimism! But I do understand what you are saying. I want to see them continue with the effort even if they are somewhat less successful against bigger or more talented rosters. If Bacot Love, and Davis continue to trend upwards like that and Washington, Puff, and Trimble can increase their PT we are in great shape for a run! (Dunn getting healthy and TNick continuing to impress will only add to the success!)

I was encouraged that we were able to play reasonably well despite an inefficient game from Caleb. That was a small step in the right direction.

You can bet that Hubert and staff will demand that we play this way for forty minutes, every night
until seasons’ end. Carolina Freakin’ Basketball, 22/23 edition.
Now it’s time to dig in on defense and force other teams to play at our tempo.

I don't give a fart what analytics say about Caleb's game! He showed remarkable progress and was clearly focused on looking for his team mates! He took good shots and hit a few 3s. He played improved D, moved the ball, and avoided the stupid turnovers that result in a pick 6! Well done, Sir! Keep pushing Family!

I agree, Caleb played great in our last game, actually the last 2 games but his stat line looked better in the last one. What I really LOVED most from him in the last couple games and really other games as well outside of the game vs bama, his shot selection has improved. I would rather see him score 10pts for a game on 50% shot efficiency that 20pts and shoot under 30%. If Caleb misses a good shot I have no problem with it, he will hit those in time but at times Caleb hitting a bad shot hurts us more than helps because he starts taking multiple bad shots. They call them bad shots because they do not go in at a % that helps more than hurts.
