...lost its HC a while back, who has apparently just been replaced by Paul Washington Sr (aka PJ's dad).

Given that 1. PJ was gonna play there anyway, and 2. that Findlay has never been a fertile recruiting ground for us in the past, I can only see this as a potentially positive development. Roy, as he does, has cultivated a nice relationship with Paul Sr, and if y'all remember, it was Sr who surprised PJ with the trip to Chapel Hill this summer.

Of course, whether it has any effect remains to be seen, but I certainly cannot see any negatives. PJ going to Findlay was actually a factor that worried me in his recruiting, but maybe, just maybe, now not so much.

Gary, this could be a good thing and it could be not so much. How much will the established relationships with some of our rivals be continued? Findley is not exactly our geographic neighbor and lots of times geography is a real factor.

That's my point. PJ was going out to play at Findlay no matter what (something that was not a positive for us), so having his dad now coaching him instead of the previous regime cannot be a bad thing.

I think this will help us better in the long term in recruiting battles down the road.

Don't think this has much effect on Washington's decision though. Perhaps having his dad out there will help him not get wooed by Arizona? :D

I think it helps UNLV more than anyone. Their ties to Findlay Prep are strong and now PJ Sr. Is there.

I have a hard time believing he will step that far down in competition... but ya never know.
Hell, this could be just a one-year deal with Sr. in that they had the job come open and it was a chance to coach his kid for a season... or, there could be more afoot.
