DayRon picked up his 2 million and has played a total of 6.2 min this year.

That was widely expected though when he made the decision. He has been playing well on their G League team. The Nets seem very happy with the pick.

I think the major difference for him is the outside shooting work. He is averaging 18 points and 10 boards, while shooting a respectable 33% on 3's, and 85% on free throws.

I would of loved him back as well, but I doubt he would of been used or drilled in the same way as he is in the G League.

This. Plus two million for one year. He can keep going and earning. If he develops, he's that much closer to free agency.

Who? JK, but honestly I barely remember him. For me, he's in the same boat as Wright, and that other dude that I can't remember either. And, I'm not saying this to be mean to him personally. I wish he would've hung around for another season, but he made the decision that he felt was best for him, so more power to him. Its' just these OADers that don't do anything to really stand out are not allotted much storage space in my jumbled up brain.

I'm OK with Day'ron. We all knew he was going to leave. He played hard when he was on the court. He always seemed cheerful and a good teammate. And he was good.

It's the hotshots who underperform, pout and then bail early when they would have been good for us the next season that piss me off.

Why should the decisions these kids make about their futures anger anyone? I don't understand that. I hate what the annual exodus of all the OADs has done to the game, but it is what it is, right?

Agreed. If I put myself in their shoes (or their parent's shoes) and understand they are doing what they feel is best for them, then it doesn't make sense to get mad at them for leaving. Now, I sure do wish Day'Ron had stayed for this season; another big that does work around the rim would've been a great compliment to Armando.

Interesting that the word "anger" is suddenly being thrown around, when no one said they were angry.

Nor has anyone said they aren't entitled or shouldn't do what they think is best for their careers.

No need to exaggerate other people's views, or build straw men.

If Day'Ron had come back, do you think Armando would have stayed?

On the one hand, the post would be awesome and we probably win more games. Armando would probably want to be part of that. On the other, that likely cuts into his PT, and maybe even his starts. Which wouldn't improve his pro chances.

I apologize if that isn't what you meant by "pisses you off", but when someone says something pisses them off, that is pretty synonymous with anger. Not sure how others "me" introduced anger into the topic. I did say "none of them anger me" to your point.

You did clearly state that it was only a portion that pisses you off, not all. I get that, and it is understandable. Some may disappoint me more then others as well, whether they choose to transfer to another school, or move on to develop with a pro league. None anger or "piss me off" though.

It is a very interesting list you provided of where the 5 stars from that class are at in their development, and the routes they are taking in that development.

I agree. Nothing against him or his decision, but he didn't do anything to remember. Coby White is the only one that did, actually.

lolwut

Must have forgotten about Marvin William’s AND 1 put back against dook, and his tip in to break the tie in the natty against Illinois…

He was also the ACC ROY that year.

Exactly! I'll always remember Marvin for the tip-in +1 vs dook.

I'll remember Coby too (and not just for his cool hair), but unfortunately the shot I recall first is that long 3 vs UVA that didn't count. Also, Cole for that first game vs ND (34pts!)

OTOH, guys like Day'Ron, Brandan, Nasir, Kessler.... I know they all had some great moments / games, but there is nothing special that comes to mind quickly for me.

Nah, to me anger is much harsher than merely getting pissed off.
See that is where people can view words differently. If someone tells me watch out so and so is angry, I do and think mild upset, but if they say they are pissed off, I will steer clear give some space. I think pissed, = irate, enraged even. "Man, he was pissed off"... 😆
