I remember reading every article I could get my hands on (still do) back before the season started. Marcus could recall all eight games UNC had a lead in the second half and let slip away, almost with perfection. Kennedy's video clip about how bad losing to dook and Wiscy were after losing second half leads because those two played for the Ship. The list goes on and on.... Every interview talked about how "they were gonna close out close games, or games when they had the lead". Funny thing about this year, mainly these last three ACC loses, is they were all close games that UNC had a lead in. Marcus is having arguably his worst season, without going thru the freshman growing pains and learning curve. Kennedy is SOFT, JJax is timid, guys out think the game and throw the ball away or make stupid decisions, guys aren't playing with 110% effort, they don't even play w that effort most of the time, definitely NOT every time they hit the hardwood. I can't remember the last time I saw somebody look at Roy and hold up a "fist" (the UNC symbol that you need a blow, you're gassed); you used to see that every game when guys had heart and played w everything they had! But back to the idea about winning close games, it seems like a lot of hot air from upperclassmen (yes the Unicorn in college hoops today). They keep TALKING about playing hard, playing smart, executing, etc and say they remember how bad it felt losing those close games, ie dook and Wiscy; but I don't see anything different. It's time to see the ACTIONS talked about for the last 4+ months about closing out games, giving maximum effort (which is what defense is, even when shots don't drop you can stop the other team from scoring), and learning from last year to be a great team this year. It's time "to shit or get off the pot", please God let somebody show that killer instinct and make this team step on the other guys throat when we have the lead and make sure UNC gets that W and doesn't let anybody take it from their clinched grasp, let alone let it slip away. Make me a believer of all your talk, show me you have the heart and determination to right the ship and go get UNC another Ship!!
